The Smith Family – working with the ambassadors

The Smith Family helps struggling families to provide the best possible education for their children. It’s an inspiring organisation and I’m proud to have produced numerous videos for it over the last few years.

Recently I had the chance to work with two The Smith Family ambassadors: Network 10 TV host Sarah Harris and Australian of the Year and Thai cave rescuer Craig Challen.

Sarah Harris has a great personal story of triumphing against the odds whilst growing up in Western Sydney. She has a genuine connection with children and is the consummate pro. Anyone looking for tips on how to talk into a camera (if you haven’t tried it, it’s about a thousand times harder than you’d think), look no further.

Craig Challen was, by his own admission, still getting used to the limelight. He’s a straight-talker with a bone-dry sense of humour and excellent advice about how to make education count (not to mention how to pull a football team out of a flooded cave).

It’s one of the pleasures of my job to meet people like Sarah and Craig. Long may it continue.
